Anyone who knows me even a little bit, knows I'm a die hard Jurassic Park / Jurassic World full blown, nerd. Countless parts of those films speak volums to me, from the pre-production artwork, to hidden metaphors and messages or eastereggs throughout.

One part that hung with me heavily since seeing Jurassic World, Thursday June 11th 2016, was the segment of Paddock 9. Since the original Jurassic Park hit theaters in 1993, they've played with our imagination of what these awesome beasts could have looked, and behaved like. But not since the opening Jeep introduction of the Brachiosaur have we had any kind of teasing build up of what we were about to see, and we saw it in pure amazement and wonder as Alan Grant (Sam Neil) was seeing it. That scene is so amazing it makes me tear up every time.

But I digress, it hasn't been since that moment that we are tickled with so much anticipation until Gray (Ty Simpkins) announces "We need more teeth!" to Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard), and she responds by radio'ing to "Open Paddock 9!" - Our imaginations go crazy, "What's in Paddock 9?!?!" Now those of us around in 1993 probably have an idea, but it's not until Claire grabs the flare within the first aid kit that we know for sure... but even though we know, the anticipation builds with the new generation who's imaginations are going wild, "More teeth?" What has more teeth?

So to me (and it could have been the metaphor the writers intended), but Paddock 9 is the imagination, it's you're creative self and mind. The container that holds all the fantastical beasts, monsters and worlds you could ever envision... And In order to adaquately stand up to the man made monsters that face us in our everyday lives, we need to OPEN PADDOCK 9.

Universal Pictures, 2014.

It is through this page where I will try to explore my imagination through others, and give my insights and opinions of various topics, movies, games, and gadgets as I am a geek for all things. I'm not a movie, game, or credible critic of anything, these are just my views of a particular topic and whether I believe they're worth checking out to see for yourself.
